On May Day, the international day of solidarity of the workers of the world, the following groups and individuals proclaim our united opposition to the greatest threat to the global working class: imperialist war. We declare our refusal to accommodate ourselves to the war drive of world imperialism against Russia. The global imperialism of the United States carried out the seizure of the information space and in 1991 achieved a change of power by taking control of the independent state of Ukraine. The right-wing government of Ukraine, supported by the U.S., has been at war with the people of the independent Donetsk and Lugansk republics in the Donbass region of eastern Europe for 7 years. More than 14,000 people have been killed, according to the United Nations. The people of Donetsk and Lugansk live under a blockade by Ukraine and its Western allies. On April 3, a Ukrainian military drone strike killed 5-year-old Vladik Shikhov and wounded his 66-year-old grandmother in Aleksandrovskoye, Donetsk. On April 4, another Ukrainian drone strike wounded a civilian in Nikolaevka, Lugansk. On March 22, a 71-year-old pensioner was killed by sniper fire near the capital of Donetsk. Statement by the Chair of the CPRF Central Committee A real hysteria has swept the West about the alleged “atrocities” of the Russian Army in the city of Bucha located near Kiev. The victims of the “atrocities” were allegedly discovered as soon as our Army left the region. The Russian Federation has declared the necessity to call an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in order to demand that Ukraine provides evidence. The Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation has already officially denied the accusations, stating that not a single civilian was injured during the location of Russian military formations in this city. Pictures of the so-called “murdered” individuals emerged only four days after the arrival of the Ukrainian troops down there.
