Support for Ukraine slumps at UN

Only one in three UN members back new anti-Russia resolution International support for Ukraine has dropped dramatically since March. Only one in three UN members back new anti-Russia resolution.Only one in three UN members back a new anti-Russia resolution US and EU ambassadors backed Ukrainian envoy to the UN Sergey Kislitsa after a Security Council meeting on 24August 24, 2022. But Ukraine’s latest proposal to condemn Russia has attracted the backing of just 58 out of 193 UN member states, a far cry from the number that symbolically supported Kiev in the General Assembly in March.      Kiev’s envoy to the UN Sergey Kislitsa heralded the proposed resolution on Wednesday, following the Security Council meeting convened on Ukraine’s independence day. The session featured a video address by President Vladimir Zelensky, for which the council had to override protocol requiring in-person appearances, and a series of statements by Western governments denouncing Russia.  ...

A Conscious Decision to Save Lives

Slowdown of Moscow Op in Ukraine's Pace a Conscious Decision to Minimize Civilian Casualties On Tuesday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived on a working visit to Uzbekistan, where a meeting of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states takes place.      Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that slowing down the pace of the offensive during a special military operation in Ukraine is a conscious decision, it is due to the desire to minimize civilian casualties.      "Throughout the special operation, we have strictly observed the norms of humanitarian law. Strikes are carried out with high-precision weapons on objects of the military infrastructure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - control points, airfields, warehouses, fortified areas, objects of the military-industrial complex.      At the same time, everything is being done to avoid civilian casualties. Of course, this slows down the ...

Ukrainians Behind Murder of Daria Dugina

by Ilya Tsukanov The 29-year-old journalist and daughter of famed Russian political political philosopher Alexander Dugin was killed instantly Saturday night on a highway outside Moscow after a powerful car bomb attached to the SUV she was driving detonated.      Ukraine's special services are behind the murder of Daria Dugina, and the perpetrator of the crime is Natalya Vovk, a Ukrainian national, the Federal Security Service (FSB) has concluded.      "It has been established that the crime was prepared and committed by the Ukrainian special services. The perpetrator is Natalya Pavlovna Vovk, a citizen of Ukraine born in 1979, who arrived in Russia on July 23, 2022 together with her daughter...," the domestic security agency said in a statement on Monday.      Vovk was said to have rented an apartment in the same building where Dugina lived to obtain information about her lifestyle. The perpetrator was said to have driven a Mini Cooper, with...

Latin America rejects Zelensky

Zelensky Fails to Find Support in Latin America Because He is Seen as US Puppet Following the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky went on a global tour delivering speeches in parliaments and to governments and various other organizations around the world asking for help in fighting Moscow, instead of engaging in direct talks to end the conflict.      As part of his global tour to rally support for Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky tried to gain backing from Latin America by delivering a speech to Chilean university students and attempting to make a keynote address to Mercosur.      Neither of these endeavours succeeded, however, and the majority of Latin American countries and its citizens have either remained neutral or backed Russia in the conflict, as opposed to western states with which Zelensky enjoys broader support, for now. Zelensky’s lack of support in Latin America is partially explained by his...

Zelensky -- No longer of any further use?

by Ekaterina Blinova The Western mainstream press previously lauded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a guardian of democracy. However, as ex-Donald Trump adviser Steve Cortes observes in his Newsweek op-ed, its tone is changing.      The Zelensky narrative used by western media "has palpably shifted" over the last few weeks, according to Steve Cortes, a US political consultant, market strategist and former Trump campaign adviser.      This shift particularly comes in relation to the latest CBS News report which alleged that "much of the billions of dollars of military aid that the US is sending to Ukraine doesn't make it to the front lines." Cortes also cites the New York Times' Thomas L. Friedman, who admitted earlier this month that "there is deep mistrust between the White House and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine — considerably more than has been reported."      Concerns also appear to be simmering over Zelensky firing h...

I Witnessed Bucha Frame-Up

Former soldier and writer Adrien Bocquet visited Ukraine and told Sputnik that he witnessed preparations for a false flag provocation in the Kiev suburb of Bucha in April. French writer Adrien Bocquet travelled to Ukraine twice in April on missions to deliver humanitarian aid, medical equipment, and medicines. He visited both the Polish-Ukrainian border and the Kiev suburb of Bucha, observing Russian prisoners being tortured and killed and Ukrainian fighters setting the stage for a false flag frame-up of civilian massacres.      The writer alleges to have witnessed the torture and murder of Russian POWs in a hangar in the northern part of Bucha in early April when the Ukrainian military had regained control of the city.      “When I talk about murder and torture, I am talking about the murder and torture of the Russian military. Officers were the first to be executed. I heard shouts when the ‘Azov men’ asked who the officer was. As soon as they got the answ...

The selective amnesia of the Western media

The West will brush Ukraine biolab allegations under the carpet just like those of Kosovo organ trafficking by Aleksandar Pavic In crisis after crisis, Western narrative control kicks into overdrive to shift blame, whitewash culprits, or make sure inconvenient lines of questioning are never pursued      Soon after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s recent descent on Taiwan, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, called out Nicholas Burns, America’s ambassador to China, for “keeping an embarrassed silence” regarding the “insolent stunt.”      The silence was quite a change from how vocal Burns had been a mere month prior at the World Peace Forum in Beijing, where he demanded that China stop relaying “Russian propaganda” by “accusing NATO of starting” the conflict in Ukraine. He used the opportunity to accuse the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson of “telling lies about American bioweapons labs, which do not exist in Ukraine.”  ...

Is this the end for Zelensky?

As the tide turns in Ukraine, is the US preparing to throw Zelensky under the bus? With Kiev’s defenses unraveling, the narrative surrounding the country’s leader has suddenly changed in Western media By Glenn Diesen Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway and an editor at the Russia in Global Affairs journal In a display of support, the US has protected Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky from any criticism ever since Russia attacked Ukraine in February. As it becomes evident the war has been lost, someone will have to take the fall, and it appears that Washington is preparing to throw the leader in Kiev to the wolves. The beginning of the end The US proxy war against Russia was beneficial for Washington as long as there was a stalemate that was draining Moscow’s military, economic and human resources, even threatening to demote Russia from the rank of a great power. For example, Congressman Dan Crenshaw justified his support for the process by arguing that “invest...

International Online Campaign Meeting 25th August 2022

Free the Kononovych Brothers!  Free all Ukrainian Political Prisoners!  Restore political and media freedoms in Ukraine! Speakers from the UK, US and Ukraine Mikhail and Alexander Kononovych brothers, members of of the youth wing of the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU), were arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on 7th March 2022, and tortured in a Kiev detention centre.  The SBU have charged them with being “propagandists” aiming to “destabilise” the internal situation in Ukraine.  Their trial began in Kiev on 1 July via teleconference. In their first speech to the courtroom, the brothers said their charges had been fabricated, and appeal to the European left:  "Comrades, we appeal to you and we want the deputies of the European Parliament to visit Ukraine and be present at our court session so that they see with their own eyes and tell the whole world how the court is arranged." The Kononovich Brothers have become symbolic of the thousands of vict...

Taught to Hate

Zombified Nation: How Young Ukrainians Were Taught to Hate Russians The psychological warfare front in Ukraine was opened decades ago, but the distortion of history became a key strategy after the 2014 Maidan coup.        Western consultants distributed budgets in a diversified manner. Information strategies directed at children became a key focus of their work, regardless of the harm caused to children’s psyche.      Invincible Ants by Larisa Nitsoy is a national bestseller – a brightly coloured book with good printwork and printed on quality paper telling the story of an ‘invincible ant’. The book is meant for children ages five and up.      The book is about an ant community that lived, worked, and knew no sorrow before getting attacked by a neighbouring insect colony who had beforehand sworn their fraternal affection. The neighbours attacked and destroyed the anthill and ruined their happy life. However, in the end the good ant...

Down with American imperialism!

Long live workers' solidarity and a multipolar world! On 28 July 2022, Muscovites and residents of the Moscow region gathered in front of the US Embassy in Moscow to meet with Communist deputies in support of the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine as well as in protest against the aggressive policy pursued by the United States and its satellites against Russia.      The second part of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first century were characterised by unrestrained American expansion along with, the policy of inciting local wars, inspiring "colour revolutions", unrestrained exploitation of people and resources initiated by them.      After the treacherous destruction of the USSR, the undivided domination of the world oligarchy, carried out through the policy of the United States has been established over humanity for some time.      The Ukrainian events have clearly demonstrated the destructive nature of impe...

Ukrainian forces ‘put civilians at risk’ – Amnesty

Kiev is routinely using schools and hospitals as military bases, the rights group says Ukrainian forces appear to have a pattern of placing troops and military vehicles in residential areas, including using hospitals as de facto military bases, Amnesty said on Thursday. Such actions violate international humanitarian law and put civilian lives at risk, the human rights NGO said.      The accusation is based on research that Amnesty conducted between April and July in the east of Ukraine. In 19 towns and villages, it found evidence that Ukrainian forces launched strikes from within residential areas. In several cases they were targeted by retaliatory Russian attacks, some of which killed civilians, the report said.      In 22 out of the 29 schools visited by Amnesty they said they found evidence of current or prior military activity. In five locations they witnessed Ukrainian troops using hospitals as bases, which was “a clear violation of international huma...
