In Memory of Muammar Gaddafi

Statement from Borotba  11 years ago Muammar Gaddafi, the fraternal leader of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, was killed. We thought for a long time about what would have happened if Libya had survived. On the one hand, today we could have another powerful player on our side who would unequivocally oppose world imperialism, against the United States and its satellites. On the other hand, the leaders of many post-Soviet countries would not have before their eyes an example of the death of this outstanding person. An example of the fact that there are no moral or informal restrictions for the world hegemon, and everyone who decides to challenge the US world domination system must understand that either victory or the fate of Gaddafi awaits him. The shadow of Muammar stands behind the top political leadership of Russia and Belarus. That is why we are firmly convinced that the path they started will be completed to the end. That the world system based on th...

Borotba warns of Ukrainian witch-hunt

Very disturbing news comes from the Kharkov region. Supporters of Borotba report that Ukrainian neo-Nazis have begun massacres of civilians. From the city of Balakliya, which was occupied by Ukrainian troops yesterday, there are reports that people are being taken away in an unknown direction. We are talking about doctors, public utility employees, and other citizens who continued to interact with the Russian military-civilian administration.      There are eyewitness accounts that militiamen with neo-Nazi symbols simply grabbed people at their workplaces, and no one saw these people again.      We do not yet have the opportunity to double-check this information, but we have no reason not to trust our supporters.      We fear that Ukrainian neo-Nazis will organize another provocation, as they did in Bucha, and will try to blame the Russian military. Massacres are a common practice of neo-Nazis.      We ask you to spread this i...

Donbass: A front-line shelter in Rubizhne

by John Parker I had just left the Lugansk People’s Republic, making my way to an interview in Moscow, when I saw a 11th May CNN story claiming Russia had targeted civilians in the Ukrainian city of Odessa. This was after the bombing of a hotel and shopping center there. When such structures are bombed, one assumes that they were filled with civilians. Odessa was also the location of a massacre that took place after the 2014 coup, funded for years prior by the United States. The fascist element that was part of that coup burned the Odessa House of Trade Unions on 2nd May 2014, killing progressives, socialists, trade unionists and anti-fascists. My friend and guide during the Lugansk portion of my trip was Alexey Albu, who was inside that burning building and one of the few who escaped. At the time, Alexey was an elected member of the Odessa Regional Council. He was a former member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine and at that time the local coordinator of Unio...

Fighting fascism is the duty of everyone

FIGHTING FASCISM IS THE DUTY OF EVERYONE ON THE PLANET May 9th marks the 77th anniversary of the Day of Victory over Nazi Germany.      Almost a century separates us from those events. However, right now we see what a colossal impact they continue to have on the entire world community.      World War II didn’t just start. It didn’t come out of nowhere. A tangle of contradictions in international politics led to it, which they didn’t try to untie by diplomatic means, but to cut with the help of war.      The reasons that divided the world into supporters of the ideas of Nazism and anti-fascists more than 80 years ago still exist today. Western corporations and finance capital, which for many years armed Hitler, created a combat-ready army in order to send it against those from whom they felt threatened: the Soviet Union.      Now we see exactly the same thing: Western transnational corporations and financial capital over the pas...
