Britain joins the war in Ukraine

by K Hill While the US has brought about regime change in Ukraine with the Maidan coup in 2014, installing a thinly disguised neo-Nazi government of Banderites and corrupt politicians to loot its resources, sell its land and saddle it with massive debts thanks to dodgy IMF loans, the UK has been heavily involved in the training of their military – now the second largest European army (after Turkey) in NATO.  The UK involvement has involved everything from bringing Ukrainian commanders for "special training" in the UK, Nazi tattoos on show much to the embarrassment of the British media, to the existence of special advisors, in reality SAS and SBS units, to supervise "on the ground" the attacks on Snake Island and Kerch Bridge.  This is the real reason our British press has been so obsessed with these two "targets" over the past two years, despite their lack of strategic importance, because they are great PR and distract the British public from the grim real...

NATO in deep crisis as the dangers to Zelensky grow

by Theo Russell The current direction of the war in Ukraine has created an acute crisis in Western capitals, above all in Washington, and the position of Vladimir Zelensky, the president elected on a promise to end the war in Eastern Ukraine, now hangs by a thread. We must make clear here that this is not a war between Ukraine and Russia; this is a war forced on Russia by the NATO alliance. Ukraine is merely a proxy for NATO and is paying a horrific price for this war. The weaknesses of the once mighty NATO alliance have been exposed: after decades of relocating factories to developing countries they have now discovered that they are no longer able to produce sufficient weapons for a major sustained war. In contrast Russia, which Western experts love to claim has a GDP the size of Italy, has proved to be a manufacturing superpower with a highly skilled workforce and mighty technological and scientific resources. Russia has not only increased arms production, from bullets to hyper...

Eco-Terrorism – NATO’s Dirty Secret War

A few days ago, an article appeared in the New York Times.  It revealed the decade-long campaign the CIA has funded in Ukraine sponsoring regime change, with military training and arms provision, long before the start of Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO) just over 2 years ago.  NATO’s war on Russia has been decades in the making, a war of psyops, lies and half-truths with built in deniability of outrageous provocations by proxy. Russia has responded with offers of negotiations, diplomacy and finally the pre-emptive invasion of the Donbass to protect the rights of the Crimeans who freely chose to join the Russian Federation after their overwhelming support via the 2014 referendum. Conspicuous on the part of NATO has been the willingness to use eco-terrorism as part of its arsenal alongside the financial tools of sanctions and media manipulation, especially censorship, misinformation and disinformation. The blowing up of Nordstream 1 was the biggest man-made ecological d...

Johnson claims key role in Ukraine conflict

by James Tweedie Boris Johnson led the charge on arming Ukraine – both before and during Moscow's military operation – and imposing sanctions and embargoes on Russian exports that prompted a Europe-wide inflationary crisis.      Now the former Prime Minister says that European leaders had hoped for a quick Russian victory in Ukraine.      In a TV interview last week with a US channel, Johnson also conceded that there were "sound economic reasons" for Germany wanting Kiev to agree swiftly to a peace deal with Moscow but that he "couldn't support" it.      It was Johnson – backed by Washington – who persuaded Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to break off peace talks with Russia just a month into the conflict, when they were on the verge of a breakthrough, during a visit to Kiev in late March.      But a US military analyst says Johnson "miscalculated" by encouraging the clash with Russia.      "The Germ...

Canadian communists call for peace

As the war in Ukraine continues and political tensions escalate, the danger of an expanded conflict involving nuclear weapons is rapidly increasing. Warning that time is running out, the Communist Party of Canada has called on the Trudeau government to immediately end its involvement in the war, withdraw all Canadian troops from the region and press for a negotiated political solution now.      In a statement issued at the beginning of October, the Party notes that the Canadian government “sees the war in Ukraine as a proxy war against Russia and is prepared to finance this war until every last Ukrainian soldier and civilian is dead.”       Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland indicated as much during her budget speech in April: “[The world] can be safe only once the Russian tyrant and his armies are entirely vanquished. And that is what we are counting on the brave people of Ukraine to do. Because they are fighting our fight… it is in our urgent nationa...

Only NATO Could De-Militarise Itself!

by James Tweedie In a scene from the 1974 film The Four Musketeers the vain Porthos (Frank Finlay) shows the pious Aramis (Richard Chamberlain) his new trick: He draws his rapier and throws it into the bullseye of a target.      Aramis tells Porthos to try that again, but with himself as a live target. The musketeer easily parries Porthos’ hurled sword to one side. “Only Porthos could invent a new way of disarming himself!” Aramis scoffs, before chasing his friend around the gymnasium.      NATO leaders obviously don’t watch enough classic swashbucklers. In their rush to arm the Ukraine since before the start of Russia’s ‘demilitarisation’ operation there, several eastern member-states have managed to demilitarise themselves without Moscow having to lift a finger.      Poland has sent 232 T-72 main battle tanks, almost half its entire tank fleet, over the border into the Ukraine. The Donbas militias have already captured some examples with a...

West fails to win the world over Ukraine

By Fyodor Lukyanov  Editor-in-chief of Russia in Global Affairs , Chair of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, and research director of the Valdai International Discussion Club  The West has failed to get the rest of the world on board to support its confrontation with Russia.  The US-led bloc no longer offers the only viable model for development, which means its ability to impose its will is fading      The recent festival of big Western politics – which began with a meeting of the European Council, continued with the G7 Summit, and ended with a major NATO gathering – provides plenty of food for thought about the fate of the world.      On the surface, what we have seen is impressive: The West is showing unprecedented unity in the face of the Russian campaign in Ukraine.      America has gathered almost all of its allies. Right now, from Australia to Norway, from Singapore to Portugal, and from Japan t...

The West closes ranks for the battle

by Manlio Dinucci Two summits one after the other, those of the G7 and NATO, demonstrate that the West is putting on the ground all its weapons – military, political, economic – to maintain the predominance it is losing in a world that is becoming more and more multipolar, as shown by the growing development of the BRICS: the economic organisation that brings together Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, to which Iran, Argentina and other countries want to join.  In Ukraine, while the G7 is supplying Kiev with $30 billion, NATO is supplying it with increasing quantities of weapons against Russia. NATO's role is not just this, however: Pentagon officials interviewed by the New York Times confirm for the first time, with precise facts, that the command and management of military operations in Ukraine is in the hands of the Pentagon and NATO. The NATO Summit endorsed the new Strategic Concept, which defines Russia as "the most significant threat to the security of Alli...

NATO Prolongs Ukraine’s Agony

by James Tweedie The Ukraine is like a bull elephant that’s been shot right in the heart in mid-charge. The beast keeps on bellowing and rampaging around, not yet realising that it’s already dead.      It becomes clearer by the day that the Ukrainian army attempting to occupy the remains of the Donbas republics, newly recognised by Russia just as the West ‘recognised’ its creations of Kosovo and South Sudan, is dead on its feet.      Its navy, air force, artillery, tanks and transportation are destroyed . Its casualties are replaced with boys and old men press-ganged off the streets of Kiev and Lvov, some without proper boots. Its senior officers are fled or dead.      Meanwhile the collective West, dominated as always by the Washington, pours in its hodgepodge of arms that belong in a museum, not on the battlefield. The latest arrivals are the 90 much-vaunted 155mm howitzers donated by the Pentagon — and made in UK, because the US mil...
