Joint Statement on Ukraine

Joint statement moved by the Russian Communist Workers' Party and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation at the international meeting of communist and workers' parties in Havana  The Struggle Against USA and NATO Imperialism which Seek World Hegemony is the Key Task of the Progressive Forces The peoples of the world are witnessing a rapid sharpening of the general crisis of capitalism. Unable to cope with the growing contradictions, imperialism is becoming ever more dangerous for humankind. It resorts ever more often to provocations and conflicts. Its actions threaten a new world war and the use of nuclear weapons.      In fact the war, as armed struggle of classes, nations or states, has been waged since 2014 when the Kiev Nazis launched a punitive operation against the population of Donbass. People were being killed for wanting to speak their native Russian tongue, refusing to recognize collaborators with Hitler’s Nazism as heroes, to destroy Soviet monuments and sever

Ukrainian communists speak

this is a national liberation struggle Speech by First Secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine Pyotr Simonenko at the XXII Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties, Havana, Cuba, October 2022 Dear comrades! I cordially welcome the participants in the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties on behalf of the Communist Party of Ukraine. The party which has been illegally banned in my country where our comrades and like-thinking people suffer political persecution, arrests and physical violence on the part of the ruling Neo-Nazi oligarchic regime, a regime which is, in essence, reactionary and fascist.      We have gathered here on the Island of Freedom at a difficult time. The forces of international imperialism, the sharks of globalization in their struggle for redrawing the political map of the world, for resources and commodity markets resort to any methods and in fact act as instigators of the Third World War. The tragedy is that the reactionary forces make

Defend the Donbas!

Defend Russia! Down with NATO! Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega:  "With all the sanctions they've imposed on the Russian Federation, which is waging a just war against fascism, against Nazism, which is entrenched in the power of thegolpistas in Ukraine, they are destroying the European economy".  Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro:  “The war in Ukraine is not a local military war, it is a global war, an economic war. Indeed, it is a world war. It is a war against Russia, its goal is to destroy Russia.”  South African president Cyril Ramaphosa:  "The war could have been avoided if NATO had heeded the warnings from amongst its own leaders and officials that its eastward expansion would lead to greater, not less, instability in the region".  Khulekani Skosana, ANC Youth League:  “Our position is that we side with the oppressed people of Donbas who have been bombarded for the past eight years, and they don't have the opportunity to appear every day on CNN, t

In Memory of Muammar Gaddafi

Statement from Borotba  11 years ago Muammar Gaddafi, the fraternal leader of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, was killed. We thought for a long time about what would have happened if Libya had survived. On the one hand, today we could have another powerful player on our side who would unequivocally oppose world imperialism, against the United States and its satellites. On the other hand, the leaders of many post-Soviet countries would not have before their eyes an example of the death of this outstanding person. An example of the fact that there are no moral or informal restrictions for the world hegemon, and everyone who decides to challenge the US world domination system must understand that either victory or the fate of Gaddafi awaits him. The shadow of Muammar stands behind the top political leadership of Russia and Belarus. That is why we are firmly convinced that the path they started will be completed to the end. That the world system based on the dom

Canadian communists call for peace

As the war in Ukraine continues and political tensions escalate, the danger of an expanded conflict involving nuclear weapons is rapidly increasing. Warning that time is running out, the Communist Party of Canada has called on the Trudeau government to immediately end its involvement in the war, withdraw all Canadian troops from the region and press for a negotiated political solution now.      In a statement issued at the beginning of October, the Party notes that the Canadian government “sees the war in Ukraine as a proxy war against Russia and is prepared to finance this war until every last Ukrainian soldier and civilian is dead.”       Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland indicated as much during her budget speech in April: “[The world] can be safe only once the Russian tyrant and his armies are entirely vanquished. And that is what we are counting on the brave people of Ukraine to do. Because they are fighting our fight… it is in our urgent national interest to ensure that they hav

Zelensky's Remarks Shows Putin Was Right

Zelensky's Remarks Shows Putin Was Right to Launch Ukraine Op Vladimir Zelensky's remarks about the need to carry out "preemptive strikes" on Russia show that President Vladimir Putin was right to launch a special military operation in Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.      Peskov urged the entire world to take note of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's call for a preventive strike on Russia. Zelensky made the comments during an online conference at Australia's Lowy Institute this week.      The Kremlin spokesperson emphasized that no one tried to "rein in" the Ukrainian president, there were only timid attempts to condemn the tone of his statements.      "There were some timid attempts, let’s say, to condemn Zelensky’s tone. We heard at the United Nations and so on. But to our regret, let’s say, it didn’t occur to anyone to rein in their vassal. This is very dangerous,” Peskov said.      Meanwhile, Konstantin Voront
