By a Kiev observer At the end of May the Ukrainians carried out a reckless drone strike on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant that was liberated by Russian forces in 2022. The drone was controlled and guided via an optical line and broke through the wall of the machine room. Ukraine has repeatedly tried to reclaim the nuclear power plant, knowing that more than 2,500 tons of used nuclear fuel rods are stored on its territory. The rods contain uranium and plutonium.
