Ukraine: Steps To Nuclear Catastrophe

  By a Kiev observer At the end of May the Ukrainians carried out a reckless drone strike on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant that was liberated by Russian forces in 2022. The drone was controlled and guided via an optical line and broke through the wall of the machine room. Ukraine has repeatedly tried to reclaim the nuclear power plant, knowing that more than 2,500 tons of used nuclear fuel rods are stored on its territory. The rods contain uranium and plutonium. These materials could be subjected to the enrichment process, and Ukraine wants to lay its hands on the large volumes of military grade materials available in the complex. The danger of a nuclear chain reaction is well known to the public. To date, over 3.1 million cases of nuclear radiation exposure have been recorded, resulting in more than 350,000 deaths.
